Oil Painting and Printmaking
Learning a wide range of expressions while pursuing original expression.
This concentration covers mixed media, video and installation art centered on oil painting and printmaking. Extending over four years, it cultivates various expressions ranging from traditional expression techniques to cutting-edge approaches. In addition to refining creative expression and related concepts, it takes students through a cross-sectional study of basic techniques for art as a whole, materials, and practice-centric art theory, and fosters a wide range of viewpoints and social skills. It offers a path to become an artist who is anyone but unidimensional, and aims to produce independent artists by occasionally including discussions with faculty and peers.

First year: Laying foundations for unique personal expression
By drawing people, animals and landscapes and going on sketching expeditions, students acquire the basics of observation, depiction, and composition. In addition to oil painting, they also encounter mosaics and lithography, absorbing wide-ranging knowledge encompassing everything from classical to contemporary art and laying the foundations for pursuit of self-expression.
Second year: Dividing into painting and printmaking courses to heighten specialization
In the Painting Course, students pursue original expression while working in diverse modes including representational painting, abstraction, sculpture, drawing, and installation. They also broaden their horizons by engaging with specialized techniques such as tempera painting, miniature painting and mosaics. In the Printmaking Course, students study four printmaking techniques: woodcut printing, copperplate printing, lithography, and silkscreen.
Third year: Pursuing unique self-expression in more specific forms
During the third year, the scope of study is greatly expanded through more highly specialized elective classes. Incorporating techniques such as graphic design, photography, and video, students heighten their ability to give shape to their ideas and pursue their own distinct styles. They also improve their presentation skills, essential for success in society, by explaining their own work during critiques.
Fourth year: Clarifying themes and bringing expression to a new level of sophistication
Based on what they have learned up until the third year, each student clarifies her own theme. Why this theme? Why this subject? Why this approach? Students work on graduation projects while receiving individual guidance from seminar instructors, and all students heighten their self-awareness as artists and creators.
西洋画专业（油画、版画)
学习各种表现手法，追寻自己独有的表现手法。
以油画、版画为中心，还有混合绘画法、影像、装置艺术等。从传统的表现技法到最尖端的手法，可在四年时间内学习各种表现手法。在培养独创性表现和创意想法的同时，全面学习所有与美术相关的基础技术、素材及与实践相符的美术理论等等，培养广阔的视野和社会性。通往美术家的道路绝非一帆风顺，通过本学科的学习，可以不时与教员和伙伴展开的讨论，最终成为独立的美术家。
<西洋画专业的教学计划>
第一学年:为形成自己的表达方式打好基础。
学生通过人物、动物以及风景的素描和写生旅行等，掌握进行观察、描绘和构成等的基本能力。除了油画以外，学生还在接触镶嵌画和石版画的同时，广泛吸收从古典到现代作品的知识，为追求自己的表达方式打下坚实的基础。
第二学年:为提高专业性分别设置绘画和版画两个课程。
在绘画课程中，学生通过学习具象、抽象、立体、素描和装置艺术等多样的表现形式来摸索自己独自的个性。学生还将接触蛋彩画、微型画和镶嵌画等的专业技法，拓展自己的作品世界。在版画课程中，学生将学习木版、铜版、石版画和丝网版画等四种版画。
第三学年:以具体的表达方式追求自己的风格。
到了第三学年，学生将通过专业性更高的选修课扩大学习范围。我们导入平面造型艺术作品、照片和影像等技术，培养学生将所要表现的内容进行具体化的能力，以追求自己的艺术风格。学生还将通过在讲评会上解说自己的作品等活动来锻炼步入社会后所必须的说明演示能力。
第四学年:明确主题，对表达方式精益求精。
在三年以来奠定的知识基础上，学生将进一步明确自己的制作主题。为什么选择这一主题？为什么要表现这一中心思想？为什么采用这种表现方法？学生在所属研究组导师的指导下致力于毕业作品的制作，每个学生都将不断地提高他们作为美术家和创作者的意识。
서양화 전공(회화・판화)
현을 배워 독자적인 표현을 추구한다
유채화와 판화를 중심으로 믹스트 미디어, 영상, 인스톨레이션도 학습합니다. 전통적인 표현기법에서 최첨단 기법까지 4년간 다양한 표현을 배웁니다. 창의적인 표현과 발상을 연마해 나가는 한편, 미술 전반의 기초기술과 소재, 실천에 입각한 미술이론 등을 횡단적으로 배워, 폭넓은 시야와 사회성을 육성합니다. 결코 평탄치만은 않은 작가의 길. 때로는 교수나 동료와 토론을 펼치면서 자립된 작가를 지향해 나갑니다
<서양화 전공 커리큘럼>
1학년: 나만의 표현을 위한 기초를 다진다.
인물이나 동물, 풍경의 데생, 스케치 여행 등을 통해 관찰력, 묘사력, 구성력 등과 같은 기초를 습득합니다. 또한 유채화 외에 모자이크와 석판화를 경험하고, 그와 동시에 고전에서부터 현대작품에 이르기까지 폭넓은 지식도 흡수합니다. 나만의 표현을 추구하기 위한 토대를 다집니다.
2학년: 회화와 판화 2개 코스로 나뉘어 전문성을 높인다.
회화 코스에서는 구상, 추상, 입체, 드로잉, 설치 등 다양한 표현을 배우면서 독자성을 모색합니다. 템페라화, 세밀화, 모자이크 등과 같은 전문기법도 체험하면서 작품세계를 넓힙니다. 판화 코스에서는 목판, 동판, 석판, 실크스크린의 4종류를 배웁니다.
3학년: 구체적인 표현으로 자신의 독창성을 추구한다.
3학년은 보다 더 전문성이 높은 선택과목을 통해 배움의 폭을 크게 넓힙니다. 그래픽이나 사진, 영상 등의 기술도 도입해 표현을 구체화하는 힘을 길러 자신의 작풍을 추구합니다. 사회에서 꼭 필요한 프레젠테이션 능력도 강평회에서의 자작 해설 등을 통해 연마합니다.
4학년: 테마를 명확히 하고 표현을 연마한다.
3년 동안 습득한 것을 토대로 각자가 제작 테마를 명확히 합니다. 왜 그 테마를 선정했는가. 왜 하필이면 그 모티브인가. 왜 그러한 접근 방법을 택했는가. 세미나 교원의 개인지도도 받으면서 졸업제작에 몰두하여 모든 학생이 아티스트 또는 크리에이터로서의 의식을 높여 나갑니다.
